5 Reasons Your Pressure-Side Cleaner May Be Stuck On Its Side

These are the five most common reasons your Polaris pressure-side cleaner is spinning in circles or stuck on its side.

Reason 1: The Filter Bag is Full

If the filter bag is too full, it can weigh the cleaner down on one side. Be sure to empty your debris bag whenever it gets full.

Reason 2: The Head Float Has Water In It

Take the head float off the cleaner and shake it. If you hear water inside of it, you need to replace it. Simply order a new one from your local pool professional, and this should fix your issue.

Reason 3: Incorrectly Spaced Hose Floats

The hose floats should be evenly spaced along the hose.

Reason 4: Wheel RPMs Are in the Incorrect Range

Verify the wheel RPMs are in range. Your pressure cleaner’s RPMs (revolutions per minute) should be between 28- 32 RPMs. To check the RPMs on your cleaner, mark the single-wheel side tire. Then, turn your pump on, hold the cleaner below water level, and count how many revolutions there are in one minute. If it’s below 28 or above 32, this could be what’s causing your issue. Refer to your manual for instructions on how to adjust the RPM.

Reason 5: The Bag Is Dirty

Try running your pressure cleaner without the bag. If it runs fine without it, you need to clean the bag with soap and warm water. This will remove any biofilm and oils that may have accumulated in the bag.
